Everything You're Wondering, Answered
How EasyWebsites works, what makes the sites different, and the practical details behind getting yours live.
What is EasyWebsites and how does it work?
EasyWebsites builds your website for you. You describe your business in plain language, answer a few guided questions, and the platform designs, writes, and publishes a complete, polished website: design, layout, copy, images, forms, and hosting included. There is nothing to drag, drop, or wire together yourself.
What makes EasyWebsites different from other website builders?
Most builders stop at a good-looking homepage. EasyWebsites ships a complete, fully optimized website. Every site is generated as clean, lightweight code with no heavy builder runtime, a design system tailored to your brand, contact forms that email you new leads, optimized images and a matching favicon, SEO and structured data built in, and fast global hosting with free SSL, all by default.
See the full comparisonDo I need to know how to code or design?
No. You describe your business in plain language and EasyWebsites handles the design system, layout, copy, image selection, favicon, technical setup, and publishing. The technical and aesthetic decisions are made for you, so you can focus on your business.
Are the websites fast and optimized for performance?
Yes. Generated sites ship as clean static HTML, CSS, and JavaScript instead of a bulky builder runtime, with optimized images in modern formats. Each build targets Lighthouse scores of 90+ for performance, accessibility, best practices, and SEO, and runs through automated quality checks before it goes live.
Explore all featuresAre the websites optimized for SEO and search engines?
Yes. Every site is built with semantic HTML, page titles and descriptions, social sharing tags, a sitemap, and structured data generated from your business details. Paid plans add the full Search & AI visibility service: a unique title and description on every page, structured data on every page, a plain-language health report that grades your site from 0 to 100, and improvements you approve before they go live.
See how Search & AI visibility worksWill AI assistants like ChatGPT know about my business?
They can only describe what they can read, so EasyWebsites gives them something reliable to read. On paid plans your site publishes an AI fact sheet (llms.txt) with your services, hours, and location, plus structured data on every page, and you control which AI crawlers may visit. No one can honestly promise what an assistant will say, but your site hands them accurate facts instead of leaving them to guess.
See how Search & AI visibility worksHow do I know if my site is doing well in search?
Paid plans include a search health report that grades your site from 0 to 100 and explains every check in plain language: what's working, what could be better, and why it matters, never a wall of jargon. When something can improve, "Improve with AI" drafts new titles and descriptions for you, and nothing changes on your live site until you approve it.
How do contact form submissions reach me?
Every contact form is managed by EasyWebsites and works out of the box. When a visitor submits the form, the entry is saved to your dashboard and an email notification is sent to you, with no third-party form service to connect. Forms include spam protection such as honeypot and timestamp checks, with optional bot verification.
Can I add logins, user accounts, or a members area?
EasyWebsites builds fast marketing and informational websites. It doesn't host user accounts, logins, or member portals. If you run an app with its own login, we'll happily link your site's 'Log in' button straight to it. For gated content or client intake, the built-in managed forms collect requests and email you every submission.
Can I sell products or take payments on my site?
There's no built-in checkout or payment processing. Your site can showcase products, services, menus, and pricing beautifully, and connect visitors to the tools you already use, such as Stripe payment links or your ordering platform. Appointment booking and table reservations, though, are built in: visitors book real times against your availability, no third-party scheduler required.
See how booking worksCan visitors book appointments on my website?
Yes. Appointment businesses (salons, dental practices, home services, consultants, and more) get a booking form where visitors pick an open time from your real availability: your timezone, weekly hours, buffer times, minimum notice, and days off. Requests arrive as pending bookings you confirm or decline with one click from the email or your dashboard, or you can turn on auto-confirm. Visitors get confirmations with calendar invites, an automatic reminder 24 hours ahead, and secure links to reschedule or cancel themselves.
See how booking worksCan my restaurant take table reservations?
Yes. Restaurant sites include built-in table reservations: guests pick a date, party size, and arrival time against your real seating capacity and table-turn time. Large parties come in as requests you personally confirm, every reservation requires a phone number, and duplicate or bot bookings are blocked. Venues like banquet halls, wineries, breweries, and tasting rooms get the same system with reservation language written for venues.
Can visitors choose a specific person to book with?
Yes. A booking form can offer up to 12 bookable people: each doctor, stylist, or specialist with their own hours, appointment length, and independent calendar. Visitors pick a person or choose first available, which fills the least-busy team member. Each person can confirm or decline their own bookings from email, and you can link straight to one person's booking from their bio.
What emails does my website send for me?
Every form submission is emailed to you the moment it arrives, on every plan including free. Booking requests include one-click confirm and decline links right in the email. Your visitors hear back automatically too: request received, booking confirmed with a calendar invite attached, automatic reminders before appointments, and polite notices if plans change. Delivery is queued with duplicate protection, and every optional email has one-click unsubscribe.
Can I take my website with me if I leave?
Yes. You can download your complete live website (pages, styles, images, and blog posts) as a ZIP file from your site's settings and host it anywhere. Site export is deliberately available on every plan, because your website is yours.
Where are my sites hosted? Is SSL included?
Publishing and hosting are included. Your site is served from a global edge network so it loads quickly for visitors anywhere in the world, with automatic, free SSL so it is secure by default. There is no separate hosting account to set up or SSL certificate to manage.
Can I use my own custom domain?
Yes, on plans that support custom domains. You can publish on an EasyWebsites subdomain right away, then connect your own domain with guided DNS setup when your plan includes it.
Compare plansCan I edit my website after it is built?
Yes. After your site is built you can keep improving it: describe the change in plain language and it is applied to your live site, checked before it publishes. The number of edits available depends on your plan.
View plansDo I own my website and its content?
The business details, copy, and brand you provide are yours. Your site is published and hosted on EasyWebsites infrastructure. For the full details on content ownership and acceptable use, see our Terms of Service.
Read the TermsHow long does it take to build a website?
Most websites are generated in minutes. You provide your brief and guided answers, and the platform handles planning, design, content, media, quality checks, and publishing automatically.
Is there a free option, and what do paid plans add?
You can start for free. Paid plans add more pages, custom domains, ongoing edits, team seats, and additional site capacity. Pricing and current plan details are always on the pricing page.
View pricingHow do I get help or contact support?
You can reach the EasyWebsites team for support, billing, privacy, or security questions through the contact page. We are happy to help you get your site live.
Contact usOnce your site is live
My site is live. What should I do first?
Open it on your phone and read it end to end, then send yourself a message through your own contact form so you know submissions land in your inbox. After that, connect your own domain if you have one, add the link to your social profiles and business listings, and share it with a few customers. Everything else can be improved later from your dashboard.
How do I add a new page to my site?
Open Pages in your site dashboard and add the page you want. New pages are written and designed to match the rest of the site, and they join your navigation and sitemap automatically so visitors and search engines can find them. How many pages a site can have depends on your plan.
Compare plansHow do I change where my form notifications are sent?
Open Settings for that site and update the notification email. It applies to every form on the site, including booking requests, and takes effect immediately. You can also switch notifications off; submissions are still saved to your dashboard either way.
A form submission didn't reach my inbox. What should I check?
Check Submissions in your site dashboard first: every entry is saved there even when the email is delayed or filtered, so nothing is lost. If the entry is there but the email is not, check your spam folder, confirm the notification address in Settings is one you read, and make sure notifications are switched on. If the entry is not there either, send a test through the form and tell us what happened.
Where do I find and download my form submissions?
Submissions in your site dashboard lists every entry, newest first, with the full message and the contact details the visitor left. You can download them for your own records. Booking and reservation requests have their own section under Bookings, since they carry times and confirmation status.
How do I set my booking hours, buffer times, and days off?
Open Bookings in your site dashboard. You set your timezone, the days and hours you take appointments, how long each one runs, buffer time between them, how much notice you need, and the dates you are closed. Visitors only ever see times that are genuinely open, and changes apply to new requests rather than to bookings you have already confirmed.
How do I confirm, decline, or reschedule a booking?
Every request arrives by email with one-click confirm and decline buttons, and the same controls sit in Bookings in your dashboard. You can switch on auto-confirm if you would rather not approve each one. Visitors get a confirmation with a calendar invite, a reminder before the appointment, and secure links to reschedule or cancel themselves, which keeps most changes off your plate.
How do I replace a photo or logo on my site?
Upload the new file in Media, or open the editor and describe the swap in plain language. Images are resized and optimized for you, so a large photo straight off a phone or camera is fine.
How do I publish a blog post?
Open Blog in your site dashboard, write the post, and publish. It gets its own page styled to match the rest of your site, joins your sitemap, and carries the structured data that search engines and assistants look for. Blog availability depends on your plan.
Compare plansMy analytics page shows no visitors yet. Is something wrong?
Almost certainly not. Analytics start counting from the moment your site goes live, so there is no history from before that, and a brand-new site is usually just quiet rather than broken. If you want to confirm it is working, open your live site from another device and check back shortly.
How do I get my site into Google, and how long does it take?
Google indexing is reserved for your own domain. While your site lives on a free easywebsites.app address, search engines are asked not to index it: that protects the domain you'll connect later from duplicate-content problems, and AI assistants can still read and cite your site today. Once your own domain is connected, your site is index-ready from day one, with the sitemap, page titles and descriptions, and structured data already in place. Search engines still crawl on their own schedule, so showing up usually takes days to weeks. No one can honestly promise a date or a position, but linking to your site from your social profiles and business listings helps it get found sooner.
See plans with custom domainsCan I connect my own analytics or marketing tools?
Yes. Integrations in your site dashboard lets you add your own measurement and marketing tags without touching code, alongside the built-in visitor analytics. Availability depends on your plan.
Compare plansHow do I connect a domain I already own?
Open Domain in your site dashboard and enter the domain. You get the exact records to add wherever you bought it, and the dashboard checks them for you and tells you when they are right. A secure certificate is issued automatically once the domain resolves, so there is nothing to install or renew.
I connected my domain but it isn't loading yet. What now?
Domain changes take time to spread across the internet, often a few hours and occasionally up to a day. The Domain section shows the current status and exactly which record is still missing or wrong. Your site stays reachable at its EasyWebsites address the whole time, so nothing is down while you wait.
Can I undo a change or go back to an earlier version of my site?
Yes. Every published version is kept. Activity in your site dashboard shows the history of what changed and when, and you can restore an earlier version if a change did not work out.
How do I rename my site, change its notification email, or delete it?
All three live in Settings for that site. Renaming is safe at any time and does not change your web address. Deleting is permanent and takes the live site offline, so download a copy first if there is any chance you will want it back.
What happens while my site is being built?
The platform plans your pages, designs a look for your brand, writes the copy, selects and optimizes images, runs quality checks on the result, and publishes. You can watch the progress, and you can close the tab if you like: the build keeps running and the finished site is waiting in your dashboard.
My build is taking a long time or didn't finish. What should I do?
Builds retry and repair themselves automatically, so give it a few minutes before doing anything. If it still has not finished, start it again from your dashboard. If the same site does not finish twice, send us the site name and we will look at it directly.
I asked for a change but my live site still looks the same. Why?
Changes are checked before they publish, and when a check fails the new version stays in preview instead of going live, so a broken page never reaches your visitors. The editor shows whether what you are looking at is published or still a draft. If a change is stuck in preview, tell us the site and what you asked for.
How do I upgrade, downgrade, or cancel my plan?
Billing in your account settings handles all three. Your sites and their content are not deleted when you change plans: features that belong to a higher plan simply stop being available. What a change costs and when it takes effect are shown before you confirm it.
Compare plansWhere do I find my invoices and receipts?
Billing in your account settings opens your billing portal, where every invoice is listed. You can download receipts for your records and update your payment method in the same place.
